Set Lorier beside Christopher Ward and two opposite instincts pull apart. Lorier is a built word, faintly European and engineered, chosen so a watch only a few years old carries the hum of decades behind the dial. Christopher Ward does the reverse and puts a real person up front, behind the glass. Coined names dominate the section, with Serica and Unimatic chasing the same soft-vowel, old-world sound, while Timex and Fossil hold the plain, settled tone of a long catalog. That invented path has been worked so hard here that a new coinage has to earn genuine age, not just borrow the accent. Build the patina into the sound itself rather than leaning on a vaguely foreign suffix.
